The Bus - How it Works

Here are the details on the Eastern States and Run for the Border shuttle buses. When You can board the bus at the Casino parking lot in Hampton on race morning. The Eastern States 20 Mile buses will start loading a little after 7:00 am. until 9:00 a.m., at which time the last bus will leave for the Traip Academy in Kittery. You will be dropped at the Traip, where you can wait inside until the race begins at 11:00. To avoid having to wait to board the bus in Hampton, please arrive early to use one of the early buses. The Run for the Border Half Marathon Mile buses will also board at the Casino lot, starting at 8:00 a.m. and running until 9:30 a.m. They will transport runners to the start in Rye.

Where:
The Casino parking lot is located on Ashworth Avenue, across from the Hampton police station. To get there, take exit #2 off rte. 95, rte 101 east. Take a right at the stop sign on to Ocean Boulevard (rte 1A). Bear right on to Ashworth Avenue to the parking entrance on D Street. Parking in the lost is free.

After the Race:
At the conclusion of both races, at the state line in Salisbury, buses will shuttle you back to the Casino, with a stop at the Ashworth Hotel, where the food and awards will take place, should you be interested in either of those. It's only about a quarter-mile between the Ashworth and the Casino. There will be no buses back to the Traip in Kittery, so please park at the Casino for bus service.

Payment:
If you have signed up for the bus, a ticket to get on the bus is enclosed in the SASE you included with your entry or if you signed up on-line in an e-mail that will be sent to you. If you have not paid for the bus yet, but intend to take it to the start from the Hampton Casino, either:

  2. Send an e-mail to don-allison@comcast.net that you would like a place on the bus and bring $5 cash on race day for the bus.
